Object-oriented analysis and design
Object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD) is a way of representing a domain in terms of entities (Objects) composed of verbs and nouns matched or classified according to functional dependency. This analysis and design method creates a set of models, communicated to others via an agreed notation, such as the Unified Modeling Language (UML). OOAD applies object-modeling techniques to analyze the requirements for a context — for example, a business system, a set of software modules, an organization's business functions, or a business unit — and to design a solution for improving the processes invoved. It is not restricted to the design of computer software, but covers whole systems which although possibly software intensive are not neccessarily so. Most modern object-oriented analysis and design methodologies are use case driven across requirements, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
